My code is finished. Well, kinda. I’ve managed to compile the code, along with most of the stuff I wanted to happen, into exactly 1024 bytes. That’s pretty much the ideal length for a 1k Intro competition. I still plan to do a little “tweaking” of the code as there’s some bits that I just think could be replaced, but to all intents and purposes it’s enterable (?!).
Do I think it stands a chance of winning? Probably not. It’s a clever bit of code (aren’t I modest), but when it’s up against work by the likes of Baze, Gasman, maybe even Serzh… well let’s just say I think it’ll fall off the bottom of the top-3 table. But I’m proud of it, and I hope you’ll all like it when it’s presented at Forever7 in just over a month’s time. It’s a little annoying actually that I’ve already finished it as it means it’ll just be sitting around for ages, but at least it’s done (unlike my vapor-tro last year, on which this isn’t based). Plus it means I can work on something else. Perhaps an entry in either the IVP Crap Demo competition, or the DiHalt 512b Intro compo. I’m actually considering knocking up a screen$ for Forever7 too… we’ll just have to see how much time I have left after writing the compo-tools for the upcoming raww.orgy, as that’s only 9 days away.
