GF != Wife

For those who don’t know already, in a few (11) weeks time I will be getting married to my girlfriend of the past nearly-4 years. This causes something of a dilemma. Currently if I want to reference Catherine in something like IRC I use the two-letter-acronym “GF”. It’s quick to type, especially as the letters are next to each other. Acronyms are a great time-saver in the speed-freak world of online chat (hello to the #uksceners, btw). But in 11 weeks time, gf will no longer be gf. She’ll be my wife, which takes an age to type (relatively speaking). So how can I abbreviate it? I need to do some research.

Either that or just stick with gf. It is very type-able, after all.

    I did wonder about wf. Would people know what I meant? Or would that even matter?

    Wife is quick! Try to write it in Czech – ‘manzelka’. Harder, eh? :)))
